Events

ISM is a busy and vibrant school and we wish to ensure that each student feels welcome in the school community; one way we achieve this is by hosting a wide array of events throughout the school year. Our school events range from talent shows, performances, and art extravaganzas, to sporting events, retreats, community outreach, and more. These events allow our students to interact, build friendships, and make unforgettable memories. Read on to explore some of our most anticipated events, starting with our Husky Bash.

Husky Bash

The Husky Bash kicks off the school year at ISM by inviting both new and current families to reconnect on campus and prepare for the start of another school year. It serves as a lively opportunity for families to meet teachers, create new friendships, and learn essential information about the upcoming year all while enjoying delicious food and having fun! The Husky Bash sets the stage for an exciting and successful year ahead.

International Day

Each year, ISM’s campus transforms into a multicultural experience highlighting international cuisine, customs, cultural performances, educational opportunities, and interactive activities for our annual International Day celebration. This family-friendly event is open to our ISM community and the public – we invite you to join us at the next one!

Spring Musical

The spring musical is an opportunity for students in grades 1 to 12 to get acquainted with performing arts or hone their craft as veteran performers. With opportunities for students on and off the stage, the musical is always a highlight of talent, dedication, and drive. Our performance repertoire includes spectacular renditions of Frozen, The Lion King, Shrek, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Seussical, and so much more! It has also been a spring-board for students’ future success in theater, television and movies.

Trunk or Treat & All School Concert

Trunk or Treat is a wildly popular event organized annually by Friends of ISM. This all school gathering allows students and community members to embark on a trick-or-treating adventure, one trunk at a time. After the treats come the musical talents of our students in grades 1 to 12 performing in our All School Concert.

Trips

ISM believes in providing enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. To support this, travel opportunities are organized including class and student trips, competitions, conferences, and summer camps.

School Break Trips

Every year, various trips are organized for our students during spring and summer breaks. Most recently, our High School students toured New York City over spring break and are already looking forward to a 2024 summer European adventure.

Our Middle School students also enjoyed the historically rich Washington DC on their annual trip.

Student Life Training Conference

The Student Life Training Conference is an annual event that brings together students from all over the SABIS^® School Network for a unique experience that blends learning, personal development, and fun.

Participating students are selected to represent their school and partake in the many educational sessions and activities held throughout the conference including:

• Student Life Sessions:
  These include strategic meetings, lectures to improve the school's Student Life program, and brainstorming sessions to teach and equip leaders with knowledge.
• General Training:
  Unique Life skills training sessions, specific Leadership training, Team Building training, the 7 habits of highly effective teens training, as well as positive attitude training are the focus of the training conference.
• Fun Outings:
  An exploration of sites and delicious food that the host country has to offer.

SABIS^® STARS

SABIS^® STARS (Talent & Academic competition) is a biennial event that involves arts and science contests among students from SABIS^® schools around the globe, which aims to encourage student creativity and compel them to achieve excellence in a fun way. This exhilarating competition provides an outlet for students to display their talents in different categories, where they have the opportunity to compete and prove themselves in areas such as painting, singing, science, creative writing, public speaking, and poetry.

SABIS^® Global Sports Tournament

ISM athletes have the opportunity to attend the biennial SABIS^® Global Sports Tournament. This biennial sports tournament highlights talented student-athletes from SABIS^® schools across the network who compete in swimming, track and field, soccer, and basketball events over the course of three days. In the past, this tournament has been held in Dubai, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. 

SABIS^® Educational Summer Camp

The SABIS^® Educational Summer Camp offers students aged 10-18 years a motivating, inspiring, and exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and shine. Our camp combines learning and cultural enrichment with enjoyable on- and off-campus activities on 148 acres of verdant English countryside on the Ashwicke Hall Estate, just 90 minutes from London and Oxford and close to some of Britain’s top destinations.
