ISM Sailing Team Takes 1st Place at Chicago MISSA Icebreaker!

ISM's Varsity Sailing Team traveled to Chicago to compete in the annual Ice Breaker Regatta hosted by the Chicago Yacht Club. Aptly named for the frigid 35 degree Lake Michigan water temperatures typical of this time of year, teams from six Illinois and Minnesota high schools competed in the first Midwest Interscholastic Sailing Association (MISSA) regatta of the spring sailing season. After two full days of pressure-packed racing, ISM clinched an historic first MISSA regatta title! ISM's Chris Loew-Blosser and crew Sydney Morical were so ecstatic they took a jubilant leap into the waters of Belmont Harbor! Congratulations to the champs! Considering they haven't been able to set sail in Lake Minnetonka yet this season, we can only imagine what is yet to come!
