“Give Your Child the Advantage of a World-Class Education”

World-class college-preparatory education for students in PS – Grade 12

The International School of Minnesota (ISM) is a private, college-preparatory school for students age 3-18. Located on a 55-acre campus in Eden Prairie, MN, ISM is a member of the SABIS® School Network, comprised of schools in 15 countries and educating approximately 56,000 students in the 2009-10 academic year.

Following a rigorous curriculum, ISM students are prepared for success in college and beyond. High school students at ISM can choose from among 18 AP courses and work together with dedicated staff to achieve their college goals.

Opportunities for all students to participate in Student Life, music, sports, & the arts

Students participating in the SABIS® Student Life Organization™ at ISM, a parallel, student-led administration, acquire life skills such as leadership and responsibility. Through Student Life, students are empowered to contribute to the management of the school and to make a positive difference.
Additionally, ISM students have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of activities. Students can explore diverse areas of interest and discover and develop hidden talents in sports, music, art, and a host of other extra-curricular activities.

Rigorous, academic curriculum based on international best practices

At ISM students acquire the skills they need to succeed in a changing world. The foundation for learning at ISM is a structured, rigorous curriculum that is based on international best practices and consistent teaching methods. Student performance is tracked in English and math on a weekly basis through the SABIS® Academic Monitoring System™(SABIS® AMS™), identifying gaps in student knowledge as they form and taking measures to ‘fill the gaps’.

Languages – French or Spanish - taught daily beginning in preschool

Starting in preschool, age 3, students at ISM have one period of World Language daily, an intrinsic part of the curriculum. Taught by native speakers of the language – French or Spanish – ISM students acquire near-native proficiency in the language of their choice. Students gain the ability to respond naturally and spontaneously in real-life situations and develop a greater understanding of history and culture.

Diversity of cultures and experiences

As technology shrinks our increasingly interdependent world, the future will belong to those who are able to understand the languages, history, cultures, and dreams of people everywhere. Through daily interaction with staff and students from over 40 different countries, ISM students develop a true understanding of people’s similarities as well as differences.
