Patrick Elgin, ISM Class of 2003

Patrick graduated from ISM in 2003 with a 4 year ROTC merit-based scholarship to the University of Richmond, valued at approximately $105,000.  The AP credits he earned at ISM enabled him to graduate from Richmond with a Bachelor’s degree in History after finishing his third year and allowed him to earn a Master’s degree in History after his fourth year.   Currently, Patrick is a Platoon Leader in the Minnesota Army National Guard.  His platoon is currently composed of 29 Soldiers and he generally drills one weekend a month.  Most recently, his platoon was called to duty to provide support to the United States Secret Service and the St. Paul Police Department during the Republican National Convention in order to help ensure a non-violent atmosphere for the communities involved.  In addition to his latest Minnesota Army National Guard obligations, Patrick just began his first semester of law school at the University of Minnesota.
